Garbage Men
There were a few dozen who occupied the field
In every city the men got up in the a.m.
And set out to help people in need.
Everyone needed their work completed
But looked down on them because they
Believed it to be a wasted life.
The field of their life's work would never
Recieve the glory that was due, yet
They continued to do it daily.
Steadfastly they pursued the greater good
Without thinking of how it may affect them
Death, loss and criticism won't stop these men.
The waste of others is the goal of their toil
As they clean the world of the things
The rest of us don't want anymore.
When the familiar rumbling is heard from
Down the street the people shout stand and clap
Instead of turning the other way.
In every city the men got up in the a.m.
And set out to help people in need.

It's so great to remember those who are secure enough to pick up trash!
